Many people asked me how to reset P1 Wimax modem password in my article on How to Secure P1 Wimax Modem?
Well it is not that difficult to reset the password actually. Here I will show you the easiest way to reset the password just by using a paper clip. Yes, seriously! Just using a paper clip.
- Switch on your P1 Wimax modem.
- Find the Reset hole on your modem. I’m using DX230 model and the hole is near to the LAN port. Refer to the image below.
- Get a paperclip and press the Reset button through the hole for a few seconds.
- The signal indicator lights will start blinking shows that the modem has been successfully reset.
- Now go to http://10.1.1.254 in your web browser and enter the default username and password as below:
Username: admin
Password: admin123 - Congratulations! You have successfully reset your P1 Wimax modem password.
This method is actually reset your modem to its original factory settings. All previous configurations together with the password will be set back to default.
After your modem has been reset, now go back to my article here and secure your P1 Wimax modem before someone else take control your modem.

Wifi wiggy? Wiggy can only be used on laptop/computer. Not phone.
i have already change my modem password and i do not remember the password. when i reset and put

Are you sure you have reset the modem completely? Switch on the modem, and push the Reset Button using a paper clip through the hole, until the LED blinking.

I followed your how-to instructions to reset my p1 password. When I attempt to re-enter a new password, this msg keeps popping out “old password confirm fail..” Why is that?

Hello – thanks for the easy to follow instructions. For some reason I cannot connect to http://10.1.1.254 – I have tried in multiple browsers and on multiple computers and it always tells me that it cannot connect. I did a diagnose using IE and it says that the device is not responding correctly. Other than this problem – the device connects fine to the internet fine and computers connect to it just fine, but what’s going on here??? I don’t know how to move forward except call the company.
were you opening the site with your p1 connection?
because if i’m not mistaken,this site is like intranet.
You can only access the site with p1 connection.

Adik, wifi P1 akak boleh connect kat HP adik akak je, hp akak, hp mak akak, laptop semua tk mahu connect.
Akak dah on off HPs, switch off & on modem, still unable to connect.
