I’m using Internet Download Manager (IDM) to take care all my downloads. Once it finished downloading a file, IDM will automatically call Kaspersky Internet Security (KIS) to start scanning the downloaded file for any viruses or malwares that can harm my computer system.
By default, IDM will not pass the downloaded file to KIS. If you want to do so, you need to configure it from the IDM options menu. Here I’ll show you how:
- Open up the Options menu in IDM.
- Click on the Downloads tab.
- Under ‘Virus scanner program’, browse your Kaspersky Internet Security or Kaspersky Anti Virus application and select it. eg: avp.exe
- In the ‘Command line parameters‘ field, type in: scan [File]
- Finally, make sure to click Ok.
Now, whenever IDM finished downloading a file, it will request your Kaspersky scanner to scan the file automatically. So you don’t have to run the antivirus scanner manually. Everything has been taken care by your IDM. Easy isn’t it?
Under the virus scanner program, for Kasperspy the “scanner program” would just be “AVP.EXE” I’m assuming from the picture?
be careful on large files. ;o)
Kaspersky is like so.
Be careful while.
1. Defrag
2. Downloading large files (they are scanned at the last second, if your computer sleeps your dead)
3. Rocks?! I dunno Kaspersky rocks.
avp.exe ?
I use a different method.
cd c:\
C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\avpoff.bat
(Contents)
cd C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 2009
avp.com exit /password=password
exit
(/Contents)
You have to set a password. and switch the switches.
Oh yeah I use KIS 2009 btw! and it rocks.. As Light as I can be on the system which needs to watch for dangerous .mov files and protect IE from the never yet patched thingy….
While I feel like this…
I still use IPCop + Adv Proxy + URL Filter in front of it all! hahaha and I block iframes. neat huh?
On full defrat, you probably should uninstall KIS. My opinion.
