To setup the Huawei device (USB modem/datacard) for broadband connetion is not that hard. Here are the steps to set your Huawei device configuration for Celcom 3G broadband.
- Refer to the manual on how to install the software and the driver.
- On your desktop, there will be a Mobile Connect icon. Double click it to open Mobile Connect application.
- If it requires PIN, enter 1234 (this is the default PIN unless you have changed the PIN). If not, just go to step no 4.
- Go to Settings, and select Manual and select Celcom.
- Then go to Settings again, select Choose Connection Type and choose 3G only. This is to ensure that the device will only connect to 3G network.
- Go to Settings one more time and choose Network Connection Settings.
i. Click New and enter the profile name. Eg: Celcom 3G.
ii. Authetication – number: *99#; Username: <leave blank>; Password: <leave blank>
iii. DNS Settings choose Dynamic.
iv. APN and Additional Settings: Static; APN: celcom3g
v. IP Settings: Dynamic
vi. Authetication Protocol: CHAP
vii. WINS Settings: Dynamic - Click on Save button and Ok to accept the configuration.
- Finally, click Connect and start surfing with your Celcom 3G broadband.
If you don’t mind, can you do speed test and give me your highest connection speed? I just want to know how fast this Celcom broadband can go. But make sure to include in your comment whether you are using 384kbps or 3.6Mbps. Thanks. 🙂

Pastu ade 5G limit evry month. Pelik giler. pastu guna usb hua wei yang boleh hsdpa. tapi dpt sampai EDGE je. Cam hampeh….
I have set up the broadband setting as u mentioned above.
I download movies using Thunderbolt (similar to torrent) but the download speed is maintain average at 10-20 kps (very slow)…
Interestingly, Anuar Ibrahim (replied above) has managed to get a very high speed in torrent.
Is there any other setting that i have left out? Pls help

Aku gune celcom prepaid berukband kat bandar Kuching Sarawak. Speed aku ok slalu dpt 384kbps. Download kalu gune accelerator dpt maintain 45kbps sampai abis. Torrent guna Halite pun dpt full speed download. Satu kebaikan prepaid ni die xde data capped. Aku dah slalu dwnload lebih dr 5gb sebulan pun masih x slow lg. Signal pun kuat sbb tiang celcom seberang jln dpn umah jer.

after a few time try to connect,still tak bole (even signal is gud )..i just delete current profile n create a new profile.then bole plak.. nape eh? kalau ari2 cenggini abis le.thks for sharing 😉

hi im having a problem with celcom huawei e220, send to customer service, they said just need to upgrade then ok it works but not for long, last for just a day. so i went and surf try to see any software to upgrade again but i made a mistake that ive download maxis 3G.. so now my huawei are no longer celcom changed to maxis and i cant connect even do it manually, anyone have any idea how to re-install the celcome broadband instead??

I am staying kat Puncak Alam, near UiTM Kampus Puncak Alam. skang saya pakai Celcom Bradband Vodafone K3565. Package: tak berapa ingat, rasanya package contract, bayar RM89.00 per months.
Selalu dapat DNS Error bila nak connect ke webpage kegemaran, Cyclingnews.com. Memang kat puncak Alam, network dia tak bagus ke atau salah install program.
Bila kat tpt kerja kat PJ, OK lak. Speed dia lebih kurang 55kbps – 800 kbps.
Pertolongan kalian amatlah dihargai…

I NEED URGENT HELP!! aku pakai celcom b.band tp bila balik kampong cuma ada EDGE connection ja. Masalahnya modem detect EDGE connection tapi tak bole connect. Ada sapa2 tau sbb apa? aku da setting biar detect semua jenis connection.

Dear All, pls try to set the broadband modem setting to 3G only or Hspda only, so that it won’t select the gprs or edge. This broadband modem will randomly choose even u are in 3g zone, so must set it. No harm to take a try.

Aku pakai berukband celcom unlimited 3.6mbps rm 99 sebulan.
Memang celcom lembap, tapi memandangkan aku byk travel untuk kerja. Celcom memang x kecewakan aku. Coverage broadband agak sangat terbaek banding yg lain. Kat PD je pon, bukan semua tempat dpt berukband, celcom gak yg cover sampai ceruk estet. Hehehe
