StumbleUpon (more about StumbleUpon) toolbar only available in Firefox and Internet Explorer. But as for me who is an Opera user, also want this useful toolbar be available in the world fastest browser. With the toolbar, it will make me more easier to submit and surf stumbled websites.
Luckily, there is a way to get StumbleUpon into your Opera browser. Here is how you can use it.
- Download this .ini file (mirror) and save it in your Opera profile menu folder. Eg: C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\menu
- Then, go to Tools > Preferences (CTRL + F12).
- Click on the Advanced tab and then, Toolbars.
- Select StumbleUpon for Opera and click Ok.
- Done!
You will see a StumbleUpon menu at the menu bar (see the screenshot above). Just click on it and start stumbling and surf stumbled websites. 🙂
Edit: To clear any confusions, StumbleUpon for Opera (official website) was created by Melo Bichuetti and not by Spot Geek. Read DrLunch’s comment for the details. Thank you.

this thing works but whenever i press stumble, it stumbles stumblers, not webpages? any solutions please?
CypherHackz says
yup. i got the same thing like yours. maybe there is a way to fix that. i have check in the code and i think i can tweak it a little bit. because the settings is not that difficult.
daman says
cool. can you notify me if you do somehow fix it?
ps – i dunno if this will help but this is the site that gives you your stumbles:

CypherHackz says
you need to open the .ini file with notepad or any text editor, and just replace the link.
daman says
but thats just the thing. the php doesnt return just one url. it returns the username, some other random variables plus like 5 urls. i would create a php file to interact with that php file so only one url is returned but im not experienced in php…
CypherHackz says
btw may i know what it will do if we click stumble? at office, i cant use stumbleupon though.

The instructions in this post were originally created by Melo Bichuetti and me. The menu was created by Melo Bichuetti.
Then the instructions were plagiarised by Spot Geek without any attribution. Which should be done according to the licence on Melo Bichuetti’s blog:
http://my.opera.com/vaz/blog/blair
Because Spot Geek didn’t say who’s the creator, it now appears like he’s the creator, which is totally wrong.
But since this happened we’ve launched a new website for the menu, formed a team and we’re going to release more content and improvements to the menu soon. In the meantime, people have been going to unofficial webpages, going through lots of trouble to install an old version of the menu.
But installing the latest version of the menu is as easy as installing a Firefox extension if you go to the official website which can be found at the following address:
http://my.opera.com/suopera/blog/
And if people don’t link to the website when writing about the menu, their readers are going to miss out on a lot of upcoming content, updates and information. And you wouldn’t want that to happen, would you?
