A hardware in your computer or laptop such as video graphic card needs a special computer program to make it intractable with higher-level computer programs like Adobe Photoshop, DoTA, etc. This special computer program we called as driver. An outdated driver will make the device not working properly and need to be updated. To update the driver, we choose Driver Robot.

Driver Robot is a Windows application that able to update your installed drivers automatically. If an out dated driver is found, it will show you the updated driver, download and install it into your system. A reboot is required after the driver installation is completed.

In my conclusion, Driver Robot is very useful if you have many devices installed in your system and you want to keep your drivers always updated. But for me, I still can manage to update one by one of my drivers because I have not many installed devices. But for those who want to have good performance system, please make sure your drivers are always updated by using Driver Robot.

Do you know, DSLRs have their own life time? It is based on how many counts of the shutter releases. When you exceeded the shutter count limit, it is time to change your DSLR with a new one or replace with a new shutter.

Almost current DSLR models put the shutter count information inside the pictures. The information is located in the pictures metadata and can only be viewed by using special software like Opanda IExif .

As you can see at the above image, the shutter count for that picture is 1706. But that picture was taken on last two weeks ago. My latest shutter count is 2096. Still young and virgin.

After you have downloaded and installed Opanda IExif, right click on your latest picture taken with your DSLR, then choose “View Iexif\GPS\IPTC with IExif”. Scroll down until you see “Total Number of Shutter Releases for Camera” and you will get your latest DSLR shutter count value.

EarthView from DeskSoft is a software that enables you to have the Earth on your desktop. It is a dynamic wallpaper and screensaver changer where it will change the daylight view of the Earth at a specific interval time that you can set.

I have tested three EarthView alike softwares, EarthView, DesktopEarth, and EarthDesk. After installed and tested the above three, I found that EarthView is the most customizable and have the glob projection which I like the most. You also can set the globe to appear at any place on your desktop and you can project the view from any direction.

Like in the picture above, I place the globe at the bottom right of my desktop with coordinate 25X 25Y. It is really amazing to watch your country from that location and see the changes of the day and night.

Try it by yourself and tell me what is your opinion about this software. If you don’t think EarthView is good, you can test the other two softwares that I mentioned above. Choose which one that is really suits you. For me, I will stick using EarthView because I can view the Earth in globe projection.

But Vista Start Menu is not like our normal Vista start menu. It is totally different. The thing that I like the most is the folder segmentation that it provides. Usually, when we install new software, the program folder created will be placed at different area at the Start Menu. When this happen, we will take some time to find where the program folder located. But with Vista Start Menu, you will able to find the folder much faster.

Vista Start Menu is the convenient alternative to the plain Start menu you find in Windows XP and Windows Vista. The program uses your cognitive abilities (visual memory, reflexes,etc.); however, while it is easily understandable for beginners, it is also highly efficient for experienced users.

Vista Start Menu will segmented your start menu for easy program folder finding. This is because your mind will remember the location easily. When you see the same folder location so many times, the next time when you want to look for that folder again, your mind will tell you that the folder is located at this, this area. So it will make you faster in locate the program folder. It is like you type the keyboard without looking at it.

Vista Start Menu is freeware but as usual, freeware has limitation. If you found this software is useful, get the pro version. In pro version, you can do almost of the things with just in one click. This is another point why I say this software is convenient.

I usually empty my Recycle Bin before I shut down my computer. But, it would be more better if evertime when I delete a file, it will completely remove the file from the system and not send into the Recycle Bin. I can choose to use Shift+Delete but there is another better way to do so.

Right click on your Recycle Bin icon and choose Properties. Under the Global tab, tick “Do not move files to the Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted“. Then, click Ok.

Now, try delete a file that you don’t want anymore. A dialog box will appear asking you for a confirmation to delete the file permenantly. When you hit Yes button, that file will be deleted and will not move into Recycle Bin. So I don’t have to empty my Recycle Bin after delete that file.

But take note, if you accidentally deleted an important file, you will not able to restore it back from the Recycle Bin. You will need to use a special software like Recuva to recover the deleted file.

Maybe you have heard about this. When we delete a file, the file that we have deleted is not removed from our hard disk entirely. It is still exist in our hard disk but the operating system doesn’t know where to find it because the first byte of the file has been changed to E5 (a HEX value). The data is still remains on the hard disk unchanged unless when a new data is written on it.

If you have sensitive documents in your PC or you don’t want somebody else found what you did with the PC, you can wipe your traces by using Eraser. Eraser is a powerful tool that can help you to cover up your tracks. This freeware tool will overwrite the file up to 35 times when using Guttmann technique.

Let say you saved your medical report in your PC and want to delete it. You can Shift + Delete the file but as I mentioned earlier, the file is still exist on the hard disk as long as no new data been written on it. So, use Eraser and delete the file entirely.

Eraser provides many features. You can use it to delete and move files or folders securely. It also can remove everything in your Recycle Bin in just a snap. Just right click on the Recycle Bin icon and choose which technique that you want to use to clean up your Recycle Bin.

Another great feature that I like in Eraser is, you can overwrite free spaces in your hard disk by using Eraser. With this, your privacy will be protected because the unallocated data on the hard disk will be wiped out completely.

Your credit card numbers, bank account number and everything that you keep in your PC can be recoverable even you have deleted them from your PC. Use Eraser! There is no business issue here. I get nothing when promoting this software. I just want to share with you this tip so you can protect your privacy and no one will be able to compromise you in the future.
