Barack Obama Worm Attacks

What will do if U.S. President Barack Obama’s face, pop up on your desktop every Monday morning? That is not a joke. It is the Obama worm.

The Obama worm was first spotted last Monday after it infected PCs at a preparatory school in Metairie, Luisiana and was first reported by Walling Data, a value-added reseller in Claremont, North Carolina. Because the damage is not big and only infected a few systems, the antivirus companies does not considered it as a serious threat.

It spreads via USB drive and install itself automatically when you insert the USB drive to the system. It is like the Brontok viruses where it using the Windows autorun feature to spread the attack. Luckily, Obama worm does not steal your credit card number or turn your PC into a remote-controlled zombie system. It is designed to float a small picture of Obama at the bottom right corner of your desktop all day every Monday.

An XSLT stylesheet does not have an XML mimetype

Today, I found out that my sitemap.xml file got problem. It showed me this error message when I tried to view it.

Error loading stylesheet: An XSLT stylesheet does not have an XML mimetype

I think the problem come from the recently Google Sitemap Generator plugin upgrade.

Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) Not Found!

I was having problem when I want to cashout my Google Adsense earning from Western Union. I went to the counter, gave my Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) to the bank accountant, after awhile he said, “Sorry sir. Your MTCN is not found in our system. Please re-check your MTCN.”

Maybe I wrote it wrong. So I opened up my Notes from my Nokia N73ME (I saved the number in my phone) and gave him my Google Adsense MTCN to the accountant. But still, the system showed no MTCN found. I back home with frustrated emotion.

I thought I have lost my earnings but actually, it is not. The money is still there but maybe there are some bugs with the Western Union system so it cannot find my MTCN.

Luckily, I am not the only person who facing the problem. There are some publishers who also having the same problem like me.

Successfully Upgraded to Wordpress 2.7

Phew! In about 10 minutes, I have successfully upgraded all my 7 blogs to the latest Wordpress version 2.7 , codename Coltrane.

It will be very crazy if I use FTP to upload the files one by one because there are many files need to be uploaded to the server. Especially when I have many blogs need to be updated. So I used SSH access to extract the Wordpress .ZIP file and copy all the latest version files from one temporary folder to my blog folders. It is a lot easier and save a lot of time.

What media player that you use to play your favourite TV series or movies? I personally choose GOM Player .

Although previously I like using Media Player Classic (MPC), but MPC needs seperate codec before you can play certain video files. But not with GOM Player. GOM Player is already built in with its codec to play almost of the video files.

GOM Player is free, simple and light-weight media player. GOM Player is already included with XviD, DivX, FLV1, AC3, OGG, MP4, H263 and many other codec. So you don’t have to look other codec to play .rm, .mkv, .vob files. It saves you a lot of time of searching.

GOM Player supports SMI, SRT, RT, SUB(with IDX) files for subtitle. You can specify margin, location, size, resolution, font and others. You can also enable shadow, view ASF files with subtitle, karaoke subtitle mode. You can even synchronize subtitle and video if there’s any mismatch.
