Even though you subscribe the 384kbps or 3.6Mbps Celcom 3G broadband package, it does not guarantee that you will get the maximum speed.
Speedtest is a website that allows you to check your broadband speed. When you visit Speedtest website, it will locate your location based on your IP address. Then it will display servers that near to you. The recommended server is mark with yellow. You can choose the recommended server or you can choose other server to start the test.

It will start with the download test first and then it runs the upload test. After both tests are completed, Speedtest will display the result in .gif image which you can use to share on your website or in forum.
After I subscribing the Celcom 3G broadband, I always check the connection speed when each time I login. I just want to know how much speed that I get for that session. But 3, 4 days before, the Celcom 3G broadband got problem in UTM Skudai. They said that there is a problem with the Celcom transmitter in UTM but it will be fixed this 11th November.
Now UTM students can happy with Celcom HSDPA signal
But yesterday, I got a phone call from Celcom customerline. They asked me to test the speed connection and wow! The speed has improved and I got HSDPA signal. Maybe they have upgraded the network in UTM. See the image above.
Although I subscribe the 384kbps package, but I can surf faster than 384kbps because my friend said that Celcom gives extra speed access until February 2008. So for those who connect using HSDPA modem, you can surf faster even though you subscribe with 384kbps package.

I am a Celcom Broadband subscriber too. I found that their service is average. Will consider switching to DiGi 3G Broadband in year 2008,
Digi 3G? I hope it will serve good coverage or else, you will still get slow connection when you are not in the 3G area.

mine is 3.6m. big prob.
First connection with celcom broadband for me is 460.8Kbps. but its look like slower then dial-up connection when i surf the net. Can anyone tell me about maxis … digi broadband connection? Is it ok….

i agree with jach,i spend a lots of money,from buy data card,mine is using option at&t data card express slot,i also subscribe celcom 3.6mpbs,lol rm 120 and got nothin,it same like using dial up,celcom should upgrade thier funny service.

After 3 months using celcom 3G, it is hopeless. With upload as low as 20 to 50 kbps on most of the days. Looking for alternative service provider.

sweeney yuriko - it depends on your area actually.dload the celcom coverage map at http://www.myceloteh.com/?p=130 ..u can also check the signal strength on your own if u have a 3G phone. dload the software at http://www.myceloteh.com/?page_id=26 ..the best way is to try out celcom 3G on ur own if u r using xpax.subscribe 3G for rm8 a day n test it all around ur area.

Huawei ade 4 setting 3G preferred / GPRS Preferred / 3G Only / GPRS Only. Yang mane satu nak gune? Aku try connect gune 3G Preferred. Ade connection, tapi bile nak bukak internet tak bleh. Skg ni gune connection GPRS Only. Speed slow sgt 53.6 kbps je! Baik aku gune handphone je. Dpt gak 115 kbps
Aku baru je guna Celcom Broadband nih. Problemnya aku tak boleh download dari Rapidshare sebab IP problem. Tiap kali aku nak download, tak boleh sebab Rapishare kata your IP is currently downloading. Nampaknya IP address macam sharing dgn ramai users je, serupa macam Digi Dataplan. Nak connect to IRC pun problem.
All this while aku guna Maxis ok je, tapi asyik disconnected masa download. Suka2 ati je org2 kat Maxis tu disconnect aku, selalunya awal2 pagi pkl 2-3. Mesti time tu technical people kat Maxis tgh sibuk tgk online porno, siap disconnect customers supaya diorang blh dpt better speed. Hampeh !!
nak tau server kat tempat saya selalu sangat lembab kalau nak download hanpih betul macam siput pegi nya. aku rasa siput lagi laju..kalauntengok pada iklan celcom dia tulis :ini wilayah celcom; tapi apa pun tarak…server lambat akau rasa macam nak tukar eje kat lain broadband lain kompeni..

i use digi broadband unlimited data,using n95 to download,maximum 31 kbps,normally 26kbps,those are morning to noon,other time not,tested at speedtest.net morning 151kbps,but when download files 26kbps,don’t understand,will the speed increase if use usb modem?

n95 - of course modem is much2 better than handphone in term of speed.

As far as I know, phone modem is much faster than normal broadband. This has been approved by me and my friend.
