This is not a super high-tech geeky trick but it just a short and simple trick on how you can create a folder without name in Windows XP.

When each time you create a new folder in Windows XP, Microsoft has made “New Folder” as the default name. Even you enter the spacebar so many times to create blank spaces, it still will generate the “New Folder” text like this.

So, how you can create a folder like this?

newfolder-02.gif

No, it is not a Photoshop trick. I did not edit the first image. Lol… Here is how.

To do this trick, you need a keyboard with numpad. To rename the folder with blank spaces, just press Alt + 255 and hit Enter. Then you are successfully creating a folder without name in Windows XP.

But, make sure to press the numbers from the numpad and not from the numbers below the F1 - F12 keys. And take note that you only can create one folder without name in a directory.

Why should I use this trick? Nothing! Just for fun or maybe you can use it to amaze your friends. :D

Note: I think this trick also will work in Windows Vista.

its very easy to delete name less folder in windows vista.
    1. first make sure that u hv full control of nameless folder.
    2. open cmd handler (start+run+cmd)
    3. go to specified folder/drive where u hv nameless folder.
    4. type this : ren “old name” “new name”
    5. if u have names, double quote is optional, for nameless folder double quote is must.
    ex: ren “alt+0160″ new_name
in the place of alt+0160/alt+255 appear as a blank
ren require two arguments,if u havnt given doble quotes for alt+0160 it will find only find one argument new_name and gthrough u error.
its working for me in windows vista…..

hey! already knew about that trick but do you know the alt command to make the folder undeletable. dont want the one that involves command prompt. the one that you only need the to input the right alt command. used to do be able to do it but cant remember. PLEASE HELP! if the input was right it should make the folder undeleted, not able to rename or move it into any other folder.

i know how 2 del it in vista…..

u juz cut and paste the folder that u ‘cannot rename’ it (the damn folder of course…..) in a new folder…

it mean that u right click at desktop and create new folder, then cut and paste the ‘unname folder’ into it..

i try it and its WORKS !!!!
