While looking for some information about Streamyx package, I found something that is so weird.

rouder-01
Streamyx ADSL

rouder-02
Streamyx wireless

I think it should be Router and not Rouder. I learned router configuration in my CCNA class. Duh…

cypher-headacheThis morning I got an email from Google AdSense asking me to accept the latest changes in their Terms and Conditions. In the email, it stated that I haven’t accepted the changes and asked me to login into my account and follow the instructions to accept the changes.

I did login into my account but there is no instruction or popup or link asking me to accept their latest Terms and Conditions. I saw Terms and Conditions link at the end of the page and I clicked it. But then, it only displays the Terms and Conditions that last updated was 25th February 2008.

In our daily life, Internet is so important. We use the internet to check our emails, login into our online bank account, login to Paypal, check your feed news, and many more. Each of the website requires you to enter your username and password before you can use the services provided. One of the good methods to secure your accounts is to use different password for each account you have. But, the problem to human being is, some of them can’t remember all the passwords they use.

So, is there has any method or software that can helps us to remember all the passwords? Firefox has the feature to remember the password we entered and we only need to remember the master password. But, how about if we want to login from someone PC? Like your friend’s PC for example. Your passwords are stored in your PC and not in your friend’s PC. So, how can you login to your account if you can’t remember the password? And even if you remember the password, are you sure your friend’s PC is safe? No keylogger installed?

RoboForm is the software that can helps you to remember your passwords. But, I had to tell you first, this software is not free. You have to pay for it but believe me, this software is really cool and helps me a lot. It is so efficient but has one tiny problem. I will discuss the problem at the end of this post.

Hi guys, I got a useful software from Smith Micro Software and would like to write a review about it. It is about optimizing your computer registry by fixing the errors. Usually, when you uninstall a software, there are still some files and registry values left behind. This problem will reduce your PC performance. Even though you have dual core PC with big memory installed, your PC will become slower and slower when there are more errors in the registry.

CheckIt Registry Cleaner - Main Menu

CheckIt Registry Cleaner is a small size software that will help you to remove all those files and fix the errors. The interface is simple and nice. I really like software that has simple and nice interface because it will make me more comfortable to use it. I do not need to be a computer expert to use it because everything is clear. You already know which button to click once you see the interface.

Know what? Right now I am in Ubuntu 8.04. Huray! ;))

The upgrade was pretty smooth without any problems except Compiz. But the issue had been settled. The problem was occurred because,

It seems AMD’s scripts to build an Ubuntu package for 7.10 include a diversion for /etc/xdg/compiz/compiz-manager so they can add fglrx to the list of supported drivers. The problem is that they don’t remove this diversion on upgrade/uninstall so when you upgrade to Ubuntu 8.04 the /etc/xdg/compiz/compiz-manager file will no longer exist and compiz will not start.

So what I did to fix the problem was, enter

Ubuntu 8.04Hahaha. I am so excited because right now I am upgrading my Ubuntu to the latest Ubuntu version 8.04 codename Hardy Heron. If you want to upgrade your Ubuntu from 7.10 or from other earlier version to 8.04, just follow the instructions here.

So far, the download process is running smooth and fast. This is my first time upgrading my Ubuntu. Maybe that is why I am so excited. But I have to wait for 5 hours (maybe more) for the download process to finish because my connection is unstable and I hope it will not disconnect during the upgrading process.

I can’t wait to test the new features in Ubuntu 8.04. As I mentioned earlier, there are many upgrades and new features in this new version. You can learn more about the new features here. Hurm…I wonder what is the first thing that I want to test after the upgrade is finished? *wink*

So guys, the time has come. This is the time for the upgrade. Download it now or request the free CD. :D

Supposedly I should write about this in my Ubuntu Newbie Malaysia blog but I think it is better to mention it here.

So, did you know that new Ubuntu, version 8.04 codename Hardy Heron, will be out in less than two days from now? They said that there are many new features and softwares in version 8.04, like…

New Core System Features:

  • GNOME 2.22
  • Linux kernel 2.6.24
  • PolicyKit
  • PulseAudio
  • Xorg 7.3

New Software Functions:

  • Firefox 3 Beta 5
  • Brasero
  • Transmission
  • World Clock Applet
  • Vinagre
  • Uncomplicated Firewall
  • Totem
  • Inkscape

New and Improved Support:

  • ActiveDirectory integration
  • iSCSI support
  • Memory Protection
  • SELinux Support
  • umenu
  • Virtualization
  • Wubi
  • Installation
  • LTSP

I am not sure why they put Firefox 3 Beta as the default browser. In my opinion it is better to just stick with the latest stable Firefox version which is Firefox 2. At least people will not facing into troubles if suddenly Firefox 3 Beta not functioning in their system.
